Got it in the mailbox today – had completely forgotten about this one, can’t even remember ordering it – so that was a nice surprise

        Gigs attended: 45 since 2006

Location: mostly south east Norway, with some exceptions

        Different songs played: a lot!

Most played song: KDH, Walking on the Water, No Evil, Sail On and STG (guessing from TraktorBass' post, looks like we attended many of the same gigs  )

Most anticipated songs: always Un chien and Hogwash, lately also Sunship and Through the Veil

        Specials (hard to narrow down!):

        – Roskilde 2008, out of this world gig in the middle of the night

        – Øya 2010, Timothy's Monster gig

        – Larvik gitarfestival 2014, amazing Hell jams with Reine

        – Teknisk Museum 2014, early HBM

        – Dansens Hus 2021, a spectacular experience

        – Sentrum Scene 2022, that Starhammer…

That setlist is one for the history books! Many highligts to choose from, but that Starhammer might just have been the best one I've witnessed – and that is saying a lot!

          What a band :STG:

I love loving this band! Now I'm going to cry myself to sleep (happy tears).

A very special night indeed! Fool's Gold is the new Golden Core, shakti beat me to the finish there. Comparing this to monday, today was very lysergic, monday was more of a sledgehammer.

(A digression: during one of my several space-outs, I contemplated the meaning of the title "Black Hole/Blank Canvas". Isn't this precisely what the band was facing at the time? Either falling into a bottomless pit, or starting anew? This might very well be olds to a lot of you, but to me it was news, and I've been a psychonaut for some time!)

                  Some elaboration on yesterday (Thursday):

The venue was larger than I expected, and with a 20 person limit for this event, the atmosphere was quite special and intimate. Sparse lightning, LOUD sounds. You had the band playing in the far left corner, the rest of the stage was for Hooman Sharifi (the dancer) to freely move about. I don't really "speak dance", but I still enjoyed watching his movements and trying to interpret what he was conveying. After a while he did some interacting with the lights and other props, which provided a nice touch.

Anyway, you know it's gonna be one of "those nights" when you look at Bent's guitar stand, and see that it contains 2x double necks only

The setlist was, as far as I can tell:

                  – New Long

                  – New Half Long/Marken

                  – N.O.X.

It's hard to say about the first two for sure though, everything was one continous stream of sound. The new tracks were absolutely monstrous – can't wait to hear how these will unfold on a future release (hopefully). N.O.X. is of course a beast – the somewhat surprising highlight for me was the segment from part 2 to 3, which was a long and dreamy drone – where the only light in the room was provided by dimly lit electronics onstage. A special moment, and a special night indeed!

Oh and this is my first MP show since 2019, which feels like an eternity, and a very welcome return! :STG:

With such a vast catalogue of songs and releases, necessarily some will strike a chord and some will not (pun intended). There are songs I'm lukewarm of, or even skip – but interestingly, what songs those are, tend to change over time, depending on my current mood, state of mind, musical interests et cetera. I suppose most people here feel the same way!

However, B.S. is a true gem imo, and anyone who thinks any different probably has a heart of stone

Wow. First spin – there is a lot to digest here, and I LOVE it! Can't wait to play this many more times over. The guys seem very much inspired here, and the record feels overall very well balanced. Great atmosphere, stellar riffs, brilliant acoustic tracks… we psychonauts are spoiled

It's called "Jazz på Trøndska", and was also featured as the last track on the last disc of the deluxe CD edition of Blissard :-)
